Hospice Transmittal 2

The Hospice, 1984-14 system was updated to Transmittal 2 by CMS, on June 30, 2015. Transmittal 2 has the same effective date as Transmittal 1, for cost reporting periods beginning on or after October 1, 2014. HFS was approved for Transmittal 2 on August 6, 2015 and the software was released August 7, 2015.

HFS was approved for the new form set on October 24, 2014 and released the updated software to all users of the Hospice Form CMS-1984 software, on November 3, 2014.

Transmittal 2 changes include:
  • Worksheet A: Shaded column 1 of line 70.
  • Worksheet A-6: Modified form and instructions to separate reclassifications between salaries and other costs.
  • Worksheets B and B-1: Removed shading from column 7 of line 17 for both Worksheet B and B-1. Modified column labels on Worksheet B-1.

Hospice Transmittal 1

On Friday, August 22nd, 2014, CMS issued Transmittal number 1 to the Provider Cost Reporting Forms and Instructions, Chapter 43, Form CMS-1984-14. Form CMS-1984-14 is the new Hospice Cost Report for free-standing Hospice providers effective for cost reporting periods beginning on or after October 1, 2014.

HFS was approved for the new form set on October 24, 2014 and released the updated software to all users of the Hospice Form CMS-1984 software, on November 3, 2014.

Major changes from the previous 1984-99 and the new 1984-14 include:
  • Data previously reported on the Provider Cost Report Reimbursement Questionnaire, Form CMS-339, has been incorporated into a Worksheet S-2.
  • The Worksheet A and B series will now require the separate identification and reporting of patient care service costs by level of care (Continuous Home Care, Routine Home Care, Inpatient Respite Care and General Inpatient)
